Rochester, NY October 2004

We came home from Rochester (perhaps the largest existing full-contact dometic tournament in America) with 4 trophies: 2 second place wins (light and heavy weight divisions) and 2 thrid place wins (middle and light B catagory division). BKH fighters once again stood toe to toe with much more experienced fighters and were only defeated by foreigh fighters (Russians, Canadians). Two months ago in Massachusetts (see earlier photo page) BKH fighters were undefeated. We took first place in all 3 A-catagory divisions (light, middle and heavy), and first and second place in the B catagory competition. In last month's tuffman competition, BKH fighters were undefeated. Thus the only American fighter that has defeated a BKH A-catagory competitor out of the past three domestic competions was another BKH fighter. We are looking forward to the All-Japan Open Karate Tournament in the Saitama Super Arena in Japan next month.

BKB's newest member, Jason W (18, Binghamton, NY) takes 3rd place in the lightweight, B-catagory division.

A special thanks to Sempai Gen Mizutani (wearing brown) a guest instructor who visited us for the week from Japan.
