BKH Residential Program
All-Japan Tournament Preparation

Two BKH residential students will be representing Ligo Dojo at this year's All-Japan Open Karate Tournament in Saitama, Japan this November 23rd. Robert Schnoes, above left, who is well into his second year at BKH and fought in last year's All-Japan, will unfortunately not be fighting due to a broken foot which is too recently healed for him to fight. Jonathan Calhoun, below left, and Paul Kaminski, BKH's newest member (next photo below), will be fighting. It will be Calhoun's second tournament (he fought in Korea in August) and Kaminski's first. The All-Japan is a hard tournament and we are participating based on the understanding that Calhoun and Kaminski are tough enough not to get hurt but probably not experienced enough yet to win. Even with a broken foot, Schnoes's power is like 5 times what these other two guys' power is, and we're looking forward to seeing him fight this May in Japan's All-Japan Weight Category Tournament, if not before. Please enjoy these recent photographs below. If you are interested in the BKH program and if you're male and between the ages of 17 and 23, please apply, but be cautioned that there is a three-year commitment. There is no cost to participate in the program -- i.e. it's FREE! -- but residents do work while in the program to cover program expenses.
