November 26, 2006

Above, Kancho braves the icy cold water of Mitsumine falls where Mas Oyama often practiced meditation.

Below, Shihan Okazaki takes us through three hours of kihon, ido, and kata training on the first afternoon of the camp. (More captions below.)

South Africa's Hennie Bosman can be seen here (front) practicing kihon from kiba dachi.

Here Okazaki Shihan instructs Naifanchin-shodan, an old kata that's a new one for us at Kyokushin-kan.

Here we are barely visible running at the start of our 6 AM morning training.

Dinner.

We all took our turns braving the icy waters of Mitsumine Falls. Here we encourage South Africa's Shihan Hennie Bosman to persevere.

And finally, a group picture with Kancho after the hike down the mountain.
